Theodoros Kitsos read music at the Department of Music of the Ionian University, studying at the same time the guitar with P. Ioannou and C. Grigoreas.
Thereafter he moved to England in order to specialize on the early music performance, studying historical plucked instruments (lute, theorbo, baroque guitar) with E. Kenny.
With a scholarship by Michelis Foundation, he did his Masters at the University of York. He continued his studies with scholarships by the Onassis Foundation and the University of York and in 2005 he received his PhD.
He presents frequently lectures and his papers have been published in the The Lute και Mousikos Loghos.
He has taken part in recordings and concerts in Greece, U.K., Spain and Bulgaria with various ensembles (Yorkshire Baroque Soloists, Réjouissance, Athens National Orchestra, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Latinitas nostra, Ex silentio et al) and soloists such as Lynne Dawson (soprano), James Bowman, Robin Blaze (counter tenors) Stephen Varcoe (baritone) και Simon Jones (violin).
In parallel with his performing and research activities, he is teaching as a scientific collaborator at the Department of Sound Technology and Musical Instruments of the Technological University of the Ionian Islands.
