research‘ΤΟ ΟΜΟΙΟΝ ΘΕΩΡΕΙΝ: Commonness and Similarity between Renaissance and Baroque Solo Song’
University of York (1999)
The aim of the study was the examination of the historical and musical development and transition from the Renaissance to Baroque Italian solo song (with emphasis in the lute songs) as well as the rise to prominence of their common elements. The common discrimination between these two styles that is thought to have began in 1600 is considered simplistic, as the process of transition from the one to the other had began during the first half of the 16th century.
